Artifice fuses my two primary horror soundtrack influences: the analog synth sounds of the '80s pioneered by artists like John Carpenter, and the metal-influenced video game soundtracks of the '90s from games like Doom and Heretic. Combining ominous synths with distorted guitar riffs on top of huge modern drums, I took this special Halloween compilation as an opportunity to craft something a little different from my typical work, more cinematic while still maintaining the DreamReaper signature sound at its core.
